Scentsy vs Pink Zebra

Why is joining Pink Zebra a smarter choice?

I used to be a Scentsy consultant, and I often get asked why I switched from Scentsy to Pink Zebra.  Scentsy is a much bigger company, and they have been around for so much longer- why wouldn't I want to stick with them?

Those are actually two of the reasons why I didn't remain a Scentsy consultant.  When you are considering joining any direct sales company, you want to consider the size of the company and how many consultants it already has.  If there are already 350 consultants in your area, how easy do you think it will be to grow your business?  Of course, it's possible that you could still work your business in spite of all the competition, but do you really want to make MORE work for yourself?

Pink Zebra is still a ground floor opportunity.  We have only been going since 2011, whereas Scentsy started back in 2004.  That is why there are only 16,000 Pink Zebra consultants vs the 200,000 Scentsy consultants!  There is a lot less competition between Pink Zebra consultants.

How to Make Money with Pink Zebra

A lot of people will join a Direct Sales company such as Pink Zebra or Scentsy and decide straight out of the gate that they are not going to bother building a team.  I can understand this line of thinking, as I was inclined to feel the same way.  Many of us go into this business having no previous leadership experience, and I really think that a lot of us doubt ourselves when it comes to our ability to build and lead a team.  The sad part is, those of us who decide not to are really missing out on the big bucks.

It’s true, you can make SOME money in this business just by selling.  However, you can make much MORE money when you actually build a team.  And truthfully, it’s really not as difficult as we tend to make it.  

Just let yourself dream for a minute, and imagine your reality once you are getting solid monthly commission checks…  Yeah, that’s a nice thought isn’t it?  Well, it can become your reality, you just have to put the necessary steps into action to make it so.  For some people, this will just come naturally- but for the rest of us, we need to make a conscious effort. :)  Here are some tips to help you get there:

Get the Word Out!

Always make sure that you carry samples with you everywhere you go, and ACTUALLY PASS THEM OUT!  :) This will help both your sales and your efforts to recruit.  You can leave samples with your grocery store clerk, your waitress, gas station attendant etc…  You can also head into your bank or hair salon and give out your information packets along with some samples.  Also, make sure that every time you do an event you have information packets to give out that include brochures and general information about joining Pink Zebra.  Try to capture their information so that you can follow up within a few days. 

Social Media

Pretty much everyone is using social media these days, and this is an excellent way to get the word out about joining Pink Zebra.  However, you have to be cautious about how you do it.  You definitely want to create a fan page on Facebook, since everyone and their Mom has a Facebook page now.  Just be wary of “spamming” people.  What I mean is, try to mix up your posts a little bit.  Don’t bombard people with posts about “Buy this” or “Join Now”.  They will probably end up unliking your page, which is the opposite of what you are trying to accomplish.  You also want people to engage in your posts, so try to post things that will get people to comment.

Attitude

Your attitude is literally everything.  When you are enthusiastic about your business it is contagious.  People get excited along with you.  They want what you have!  They see how happy you are and they want to know how they can get to where you are.  If you are just lukewarm about Pink Zebra, then your business will remain lukewarm.  Get excited!  Get pumped!  When you change your attitude your business will change along with it!

In my opinion, you can get everything you need from the basic kit.  Unless you just can't live without the handbag and suitcase, I would suggest going with the basic option.  This is mainly because of the fact that I feel the extra money would be better spent on inventory.  We have a Quick Start program where you can free products based on the sales you get during your introductory period.  If you spend the extra money on your kit, it will not go towards getting your Quick Start bonus.  However, if you get the basic kit and spend the extra money on inventory, you are already going to be very close to earning your first Quick Start bonus!  I love getting free stuff, don't you?

With that being said, if you really want the suitcase and handbag you should definitely go with the deluxe kit because this will be your only chance to get them.  We don't sell them individually, so the only way to get them is with the deluxe kit.

Confessions of a Stay at Home Mom- How Pink Zebra Brought Me Back Out of the Trenches

I was sitting there one day in my Mom uniform (pajama pants, a T-shirt that my son decided was his personal napkin, and my trusty old house slippers) when I said to myself, "Seriously?  I could be contributing so much more."  But how?  The cost of child care is ridiculous, and I didn't want to give up my time with the kids.  So what's a girl to do?

It happened by accident really.  I had been selling Scentsy for awhile with absolutely no results.  It was basically a cheaper way for me to get the products for myself, and that's it.  I signed up to sell Pink Zebra on a whim, thinking that it was going to be exactly the same as Scentsy.  Boy was I wrong!

As it turned out, people were HUNGRY for an alternative to Scentsy.  All I had to do was present Pink Zebra to people and they were gobbling it up.  On top of that, there are about a million disgruntled Scentsy consultants out there who love what they do but can't sell a thing.  They hear about Pink Zebra and BAM!  You have yourself an experienced new consultant with a customer base already in place!  Within just a few short months I had already built an amazing team, and was selling out at events!  I never saw it coming.


I actually never even planned on building a team- but people were coming to me asking to join!  I was getting new recruits without even recruiting!  In all the time I sold Scentsy I never even got one single consultant to sign up under me.  Not one.

So here is where it gets good:  The money I make from Pink Zebra is NOT why I love it so much.  While the extra income is definitely a bonus, it is not nearly as valuable to me as the personal growth I have experienced since I became a consultant.  I  now know what it feels like to get a promotion, lead a team, meet my goals and get recognized for my accomplishments.  In my every day life as a stay at home Mom I barely EVER got recognized for anything I did in a day.  Talk about a thankless job!

What is even better is that I get to bring this opportunity to other people.  I get to help them start a business that will not only bring them additional income, but literally CHANGE THEIR LIVES by allowing them to experience the same sense of accomplishment that I have.  How cool is that?

So really- if you are sitting on the fence about this, get your butt off that fence right now and start heading down a path that will lead you somewhere!  If I can do it, anyone can!  I am just a regular chick with no previous sales or leadership experience.  All I am is a mother who loves her babies and wants to set an awesome example for her daughters.  This is not a get rich quick scheme, you will not have overnight success.  But what you will have is the satisfaction of actually reaching goals, making life happen and having fun in the process!

Scentsy vs. Pink Zebra

Before I started selling Pink Zebra, I was a Scentsy consultant.  I get asked all the time why I switched, and why I prefer Pink Zebra vs. Scentsy.  

I will say that Scentsy does have a nice product, and I am grateful to them for “paving the way” for Pink Zebra.  However, there are several reasons why I switched.  I am so glad that I did!  At first I was afraid that my customers would not make the switch with me.  I am happy to say that ALL of them did, and we have never looked back!

I will admit- when I first heard about Pink Zebra I was reluctant.  A friend of mine was having an online party and wanted me to check it out.  I was like, “NO WAY!”  I had no intentions of giving my business to the competition!  Still, I was very fond of this girl and I felt the need to help her out. 

I reluctantly decided to check out the website, and BAM!  I was met with a bright and colorful page full of FABULOUS hot pink and zebra print- women eat this stuff up, and I am no exception!  Since the products were so eye-catching, I literally had no choice but to take a look, and I was entranced.  I fell in love at first sight, and to tell you the truth- I signed up to sell Pink Zebra without even trying the products!

The best part is that once I received my kit I was happy to discover that the products were not just superior in image.  Pink Zebra sprinkles are made from soy wax, which doesn’t take as much heat to melt as the hard paraffin wax that Scentsy uses.  This means that without all that extra heat the scent doesn’t burn off as quickly.  The sprinkles offer a longer lasting, stronger scent than your Walmart or Scentsy wax does.  Yay!

What’s even more awesome is that you can actually make “recipes” with the sprinkles!  I love playing around with them every day and making new scent combinations!  My customers love being able to get a jar filled with 2 or 3 different scents, and the fact that you can personalize your own jars is definitely a plus.  There are so many different possibilities that you will never run out of new scents to try!

I also love that you can make candles with the sprinkles!  No one else offers the ability to make your own personalized scented candles, and they are just too cute!  You can layer your candles with several different scents, or mix up the scents before you make your candle- whatever you prefer!  We also have reed diffusers, lotions, and soaps that will rock your socks off!

Even though I have fallen desperately in love with the Pink Zebra products, when comparing Scentsy vs Pink Zebra the HUGEST difference is in the opportunity!  As a Scentsy consultant I was never able to build a team.  Once I became a Pink Zebra consultant I was able to start building my team immediately, and had 12 consultants underneath me within just a few months!  The great thing about Pink Zebra is that it is still a ground floor opportunity.  Even though we are growing quickly, there are not nearly as many Pink Zebra consultants as there are Scentsy consultants.  When I sold Scentsy I was competing with so many other consultants in my tiny small town that I really didn’t have a chance.  If you get in while the getting is good, you can rock this business the same way I have!  It has been a life saver for my family on many occasions, and I have had a blast the whole time!
